Our Mission
Ardent Africa was born from a simple yet powerful vision: to create a platform where every African can make a difference. We believe that when communities come together, incredible things happen. Our mission is to democratize social change, making it easy to back a cause, sign or start a petition, and advocate for what matters most.
Whether it's funding education initiatives, supporting healthcare projects, advocating for environmental conservation, championing women's empowerment, connecting with skilled providers in the marketplace, bringing people together at events, or simply following a cause and hearing from it in your own words, Ardent Africa provides the tools, transparency, and trust needed to turn ideas into impact.
ar·dent, from the Latin ardere, 'to burn'
A name is a promise. Ours comes from the Latin ardere, 'to burn.' To be ardent is to be wholehearted: passionate, devoted, and warm. It is the quiet fire you feel for the things you refuse to give up on. We chose the name because that fire was already here, in the nurse raising funds for a rural clinic, the student gathering signatures for change, the family sending hope across an ocean to home. Ardent Africa simply gives that fire a place to gather, to grow, and to be seen.

That warmth lives in our name. Ardent comes from the Latin ardere, 'to burn,' and it describes how we show up: wholehearted, warm, and devoted to the communities we serve. A single act of giving, shared, becomes warmth for a whole community.
The second half of our name is just as deliberate. We did not build this for Africa as a problem to be solved, but with Africa as a continent of changemakers. The ambition, the generosity, and the resolve were never missing: what was missing was a trusted place to channel them. That is the work we are honored to do.
So Ardent Africa is more than a name. It is the standard we hold ourselves to: to care about your cause as fiercely as you do, and to keep that fire burning long after the first gift.
Our Story
Founded in 2025, Ardent Africa emerged from a recognition that while Africa is rich in potential, many communities lack the resources and platforms needed to drive meaningful change. Traditional fundraising methods often exclude grassroots initiatives, and advocacy tools are fragmented across multiple platforms.
We set out to change that. Ardent Africa combines the power of modern technology with deep understanding of African communities to create a platform that is both sophisticated and accessible.
Both Ardent Africa and the Ardent Africa Foundation were founded by Mawuli Dzaka, a software engineer and entrepreneur based in Accra, Ghana.
Today Ardent Africa carries campaigns and petitions, events and ticketing, a job portal, a services marketplace, business and NGO reviews, live audio rooms and a social layer, built for the way organising actually works across the continent. Our work is just beginning. Every new campaign, every donation, and every signature brings us closer to a more empowered, connected Africa.
Ardent Africa Foundation
Ardent Africa Foundation LBG is the charitable arm behind this platform. It works across Africa on education, health and wellbeing, economic resilience, and emergency response, directing grants, verification and volunteer expertise toward vetted NGOs and local leaders.
The two are not one organisation doing the same thing twice. Ardent Africa builds and runs the infrastructure. The Foundation does charitable work on it, and is held to the same public rules as anyone else who does.
Foundation causes
Every fundraising and hybrid cause on Ardent today is a Foundation cause. They run on the zero platform fee path, so the whole gift reaches the work.
Ardent Safety
Ardent Safety is operated by the Foundation. It is the data controller for every hazard report filed through it, and a person reviews each report before anything is published or sent.
Grants and partnerships
The Foundation makes grants to verified NGOs and community organisations, and co-funds programmes with corporate partners through public CSR pledges.
Volunteering
Foundation volunteering places specialist skills with grant partners. It is separate from the volunteer opportunities organisers list on the platform, and both routes stay open.
